The Democratic Party - for those of us paying attention - has become a shadow of the Republican Party, a miniature MAGA image impaled on the adjacent ground if you will.
Reading this piece, I couldn't help but feel sadness, anger, despair. It is very sad to face everything you stated which I am aware is true. It is very sad and unnerving that our country has complete denial of the issues you mentioned, such as climate change and violence being the cause of the influx of migrants at the borders. The lies fabricated by both parties portraying migrants and immigrants to be fentenoyl distributers, offenders, rapists,and mentally ill is as you say a lie.
The US has lost its soul and moraity. The President, congress, NRA, Big Oil, Insurance Companies don't care about the real sources of climate change, health disparity, addictions, violence, poverty, migration and extreme despair people feel in our country. And is increasing rapidly in my view.
And politicians and constituents place blame on the oppressed, black and brown people, and migrants who are are trying to survive. It's chilling.
I agree that the US is the driving force of warfare, with far more interest in making money off of it. We say we are the beacon of freedom and democracy and the greatest country in the world. Our system is as corrupt as Russia. Our healthcare system is so broken, we are losing rights.
If Harris even believed this and spok. e truth to the people, she would be ostracised. Yes her politics are not going to deliver much in the way of acting on the source of our problems. But she is still a stark contrast to Trump. It is very difficult to reckon with the fact that Trump in spite of all his lies, stupidity, rascist views, lack of character and moral fiber, crimes and essentially a babbling idiot may indeed be president again and has so many believers. Very disheartening to know that half the voters think he is the answer. Speaking the truth as you do is important. People need to understand and may feel a sense of support and understanding that our collective feeling of depression, desire to check out, hopelessness and poor self esteem and fear is not our fault.
